Oh those dog days of summer. I miss the simple times when a baby pool and/or sprinklers fix a hot summers day!
Yesterday was a hot one for sure here up in the inland of the Pacific northwest… Okay I am very landlocked here but all the same we are not used to this kind of heat in the month of June. We don’t get this kind of heat until Late July or August and then it is only a week or two that we have it.
I grew up in Arizona and can usually handle this kind of heat wave but yesterday was a killer dry heat even for me. Three bottles of water and shade were not enough to keep me feeling okay…

I had hoped to be posting pictures of the Welcome Home day at our Local VA Medical Center but with a two year old toddler in tow and this record heat I never even got my camera off the stroller or out of the bag. So while I did enjoy a rare lunch date with my husband and got to chat up a couple of wonderful people the heat was just too much for me and my Little Bug. We couldn’t get home fast enough!

Once the sun set a little past the house we headed out back and enjoyed the cool waters of the baby pool! YEAH!
Below is some pictures of the the fun. So don’t go feeling too sorry for my camera as I gave it a good workout after all!
I hope you enjoy them.

So, summer is here and it just me and the Little Bug most days this summer as her big sisters on off on their summer adventures. So with Play Dates on the schedule for some of our summer fun I thought I would post the pictures here for friends and family to enjoy or purchase if they want. Here I will show all the photographs, not just a select few like I do on the Blog or my social media pages.

So it has been a long while since last I posted… I am truly sorry. It is difficult for me to keep up with my teens a toddler and my husband. I often forget to take some much-needed me time. I am working on that…
I have spent most of my spring being Mom, housekeeper, nurse, taxi driver, team mom, Cheer Leader, chef, friend, & accounts manager. Not a whole lot of time left in my day to sit down and blog or go out and shoot. As a matter of fact this year I paid a friend to shoot our spring family portraits. They are beautiful and I am so happy that was one last thing off my to do list.
Upon picking up a disk of my family’s spring portraits I was led to a new place to shoot. I had my camera in my car and my teens were at home with the baby. The sun was shining it was peaceful and I had two empty memory cards to work with.
Oh I will only shoot a few shots it will be nice to have some pictures to play with during nap time while the teens finish out the school year. Before I knew it… Time had flown by and I had been out there over three hours and was quickly filling my second memory card….
I was in my own world alone with my own thoughts, enjoying nature around me and all her beauty. I was laying on the ground, elbows in the mud, people looking at me like I had lost my mind as they walked by. It was magnificent fun, I saw beauty down low and then would roll over and see it up high. I have been toying with a shoot idea for a while now and it has been weighing heavy on my heart and in my thoughts.
So after reviewing my images and thinking, and also recalling just how nice it was for me to be out in my own little world behind the lens of my beloved camera again, I think I am just going to have to find a way to do this little photo shoot project running in my head and then figure out how to show it off when done.
I just wanted to share with you some of my inspiring shots from my impromptu photo-walk.

Below I share with you my Up High Down Low Spring 2013

THE GOALIE’S MOM

I am sure you have seen her at a Lacrosse game
Although you may not know her name
She seldom sits with her friends or the crowd
Who gets so excited and yells so loud
The rest of the teams they can give and take
It is the goalie who always makes the mistake
“Take him out” they holler “He is a sieve”
He doesn’t even deserve to live!!“

But when the contest is going the other way
They have nothing but praise and good things to say
”He is stopping them all. Isn’t he great?“
”If he keeps this up, we will be going to the states.“

When overtime comes, she can no longer stay
But goes to the park and starts to pray;
And cautiously listens to hear a loud roar
She then knows that one team has now made a score
Her heart in her throat, she peeks at the fans
They are joyful, screaming and clapping their hands.
With a sigh of relief, she know her boy’s team has won,
So for now there won’t be any criticizing her son.
She says a quite ”Thank you God“ as she walks back to the field.
Today’s a happy ending, but she knows there will be more.

Times when the goalie doesn’t come through.
There will be days when she will brush a tear from a eye
And days when she will want to break down and cry,

For the player with the almost impossible task
Oh how she loves that child from behind the mask.
Yes, I’m sure you have seen this lady at one time or another
‘Cause she is a special breed, she is the goalie’s mother.
